about

This is a song for fall days by the fireplace when you are remembering a lost love, friend or family member. It has a mellow acoustic groove like one of the old sweet JJ Cale tunes or a warm old acoustic Neil Young Song with layered acoustic and reverb electric guitar, snare brush and dry bass. The melody grows with the song like a faded memory coming back in the late smokey hours of the evening. It has a warm analog feel.

lyrics

When the leaves are scattered pictures on the ground,
and all the times that I’ve been coming down.
I cannot believe my eyes.

If I had to tell you the time, I would not be able to.
I cannot see the sky, even though it is
So blue.
So blue.

I passed the papers on the hill. Made an acquaintance in the hall.
Found some way to get outside
Of them all.
Of them all.

The grass is all but turning green now. Salamanders come to sleep.
In the sun. I am not the only one.
In the sun.

I found the records that you gave me and they still play.
On time.
On time.
On time.

Pictures are scattered on the table, I’m remembering you.
Tonight.
Tonight.
